Ashta Lakshmi signifies eight Goddess Lakshmi forms: Adi Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhairya Lakshmi, Sanatan Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi, Vijay Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi.

The eight forms of Ashta Lakshmi blesses the devotee or the worshipper with strength, wealth (money), patience, children (Santan Sukh), wealth or comfort of mobility (vehicles), education (knowledge & skills), victory, food (mainly for farmers for a good harvest) respectively. The Eightfold Prosperity has been represented by Vedic Symbolism as the Ashta Lakshmi. They are as follows:

1) The Original Prosperity (Adi Lakshmi): This is the Original Lakshmi or Mahalakshmi. She gives protection to the devotee and sits with Abhaya Mudra (protection gesture) and Varada Mudra (welcome gesture).

8) Vidya Lakshmi (Prosperity of Wisdom): She is the bestower of knowledge of all arts and sciences. Veracity, Equanimity, Fixity, Non-irritability, Adaptability Humility, Regularity, Absence of Vanity, Sincerity, Simplicity, Tenacity, Integrity, Nobility, Magnanimity, Charity, Purity, Generosity & Serenity- these are the eighteen “ities” associated With Wisdom, which can confer Self Realisation.
